We planted this one when we searched out the new Ad Astra box near Macedon, NY.

Blue Cut Marsh

Difficulty: Easy, but high mud potential

Find the Blue Cut Nature Center on NY State 31between Lyons and Newark.

This little park protects marshlands along a small river.

Purple Martin bird houses are here and at the top of the hill to your left are blue bird boxes.

Keep these boxes on your left as you take the track leading into the park.

Turn right on a mown path towards the river.

You’re going the wrong way on a nature trail that highlights marsh features.

As you enjoy these, you may hear and see the trains, freight and passenger, that travel on the opposite bank.

Between 3 and 4 turn away from the tracks on a small trail that ends near a cluster of dead tree trunks. Among these trunks is the letterbox. My feet didn’t get wet planting it.  Please rehide carefully.
